St. Mary's Participates in SF Interfaith Council Winter Shelter Dinner
With joy in their hearts, a team from St. Mary the Virgin gathered on a Friday evening at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption to carry on the San Francisco Interfaith Council Winter Shelter tradition of serving a hot meal to people experiencing homelessness in our city. Our preparations began months ago! The menu included lasagna, vegetables, salad, rolls with butter, and cookies. Yum! The Sunday School children of St. Mary's provided homemade decorations with sweet messages for each table. Over 80 hungry guests arrived and ate while our volunteers dashed to and fro, dishing up as much love as food. Our guests retired to their beds for the night, but in the morning, they each woke up to a surprise: new socks and underwear! Thank you to all of our organizers and volunteers - both those who could attend in person and those who were there with us in spirit!
