Dear St. Mary's Community,
At St. Mary's, our shared life flourishes daily in uplifting worship, in genuine fellowship, and in ministries that bring Christ's compassionate love to San Francisco and the wider world. This vital work is sustained through our communal generosity, particularly through our annual financial pledges.
A pledge is far more than a financial contribution; it is an intentional spiritual practice, an act of faith, and an expression of thanksgiving for God's steady presence in our lives. It allows our roots to go deeper and our branches to extend wider as we nurture our parish family and serve our neighbors.
We invite you to prayerfully consider your financial commitment to St. Mary's for 2027:
1. Our Parish Goal: We are seeking a goal of $950,000 from our pledging members to sustain our clergy, formation programs, pastoral care, music, and justice ministries.
2. Proportional Giving: We encourage reflecting on giving in proportion to your household income. While the biblical tithe of 10% serves as a traditional guidepost, generosity is an ongoing spiritual journey toward and beyond that mark. As a benchmark for your prayerful discernment, our current average pledge is $6,000 and the median pledge is $3,000.
3. St. Mary’s as a Priority: we hope St. Mary's remains a central philanthropic priority reflecting your thanksgiving for God's blessings and your investment in our common future.
Ways to Pledge:
• Online: Submit your pledge directly at smvsf.org/pledge
• In Person: Place your pledge card in the offering plate during Sunday worship.
• By Mail: Send your completed pledge card using the return envelope from your mailed packet.
November 15, Celebration Sunday:
Please mark your calendar for Celebration Sunday on November 15, following our combined 10:00 a.m. worship service. We will gather for a parish-wide luncheon to bless our pledges and celebrate our shared life in Christ.
Thank you for your faith and generosity!
