Sidi Mohamed Sid’Abba had to flee Mauritania because of the threats to his life by the extreme Islamic regime ruling the country. In a torturous route that took him from his African home through eleven countries on five continents and three cities in the US, he now has established a life in Canada. Along the way, he spent two years in San Francisco, where he was supported by the St. Mary’s-Sherith Israel Nueva Esperanza Accompaniment Team (NEAT).

Sid now has self-published his inspiring personal story as an e-book, available for purchase on Amazon. From Desert to ICE: A True Story of Survival, Faith, and Migration is a story of dedication, persecution, courage, and perseverance. And it includes an appreciation of the support of our interfaith NEAT in San Francisco. You can find no better introduction into the meaning and power of our witness than Sidi’s book.

Access the e-book on Amazon for a fee HERE.

Thank you, St. Mary’s, for supporting this living this witness of faith.
